The Confessional is a large scale installation comprised of two parts.
The first part is a 10 x 12 room. The rough exterior is contrasted by a pristine interior in a full surround of wall-length mirror. In the center of the room rests a large pile of stones. An inscription, "LET THE ONE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE," contextualizes the endless reflections of bodies and stones.
The second part consists of a simple chair set before a basin and pitcher filled with water.
This exhibit is meant to draw attention to the radical nature of forgiveness and the critical role confession plays in reconciliation.
